09 Sponsorship ops

If you want to be involved as a sponsor for the 2009 Irish Web Awards, where 400 people are expected to attend, the details are below. The people who attend the Web Awards are website owners from large to small companies and organisations, web developers, marketers and the general public who just want to be part of the chorus of praise for well built and designed websites.

Please note that this event is an informal event and not a black tie event, we think there’s enough of them already. Also to be as transparent and fair as possible, a sponsor cannot be nominated for any category in the Awards and cannot have their development work for a client nominated.

Email Contact ( at ) Awards.ie if you want to be involved in sponsoring.

Breakdown of sponsors role:

Your name and logo will be on the sponsors page. The sponsors for 2008 will be displayed on the site until the next Web Awards buildup. Sponsors will present the prize on the stage after the MC calls out the winner. You or your representative will be pictured with the Award winner for the category that you sponsored. There will be a pre-Awards drinks reception with all the nominees and sponsors at 1830 on the evening of the Awards. This will give the nominees a chance to mix with the sponsors and organisers.

Sponsorship of the Web Awards is not passive. Sponsors are expected to take an active part in the event, evangelising the websites nominated in the category they’ve sponsored and getting to know the people behind these sites. The Web Awards strives to be community minded and we think the more sponsors get involved, the better the event will be.

What the sponsors do not get:

Though this is a commercial event we try to keep the commercialisation of the Awards to a minimum so there are no displays or banners for the sponsors in the room.
