Anyone want to suggest prizes that can be given? Genuine replies please!
I was thinking for some of the lesser prizes, things like a years subscription to the Irish Times Online or Tribune.ie, with possibly maybe an iPod for the big prize. (If the cash is there for it.)
Also, the room won’t be free or the rental for an audio-video equipment that we need, so anyone know of a crowd that can sponsor us?
A few things about sponsorship though. The event will be called the Irish Blog Awards, not the Sponsorname Irish Blog Awards. I would like to retain the purity of the name. Do people think that it is ok for categories to be sponsored? (That is if we can get sponsors for each category)
if sponsor is need why not have it at front. Sell your sole to consumerism it will do you good.
It could be difficult to get a sponsor for each category, that’s a lot of sponsors!

Damien – Some companies would be very interested in sponsoring such an event. If you prepare sponsorship packages you should be able to attract interest, but you’d obviously have to think about a venue and format for the event.
