Alan: that’s something I’ve been wondering about too, but it’s hard to think of a way to deal with it. Nevertheless, there are quite a lot of people who write about wide-ranging topics and you’re correct — their options are limited. Perhaps categories like “most entertaining” or “most interesting” or “best written” might work.

Damien – firstly, thanks for sticking with the awards and the organising.

Is there a danger that we’re trying to squeeze blogs into distinct award categories – when most blogs actually straddle multiple categories. Some of the blogs I most enjoy reading cover a range of topics …

So will we end up rewarding the specialists – and only letting generalists run for “best ___ post” and “best personal blog” awards?

Just a thought. Wonder what others think?

I love how loooong this list is; can’t wait to see the winners!

…but must admit I’d love to vote for a Best Charity Blog, and Best Religious Blog.

(just sayin’ ! a suggestion for 2009 perhaps?)
