A little assistance – powerpoints for each category

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

Last year we had a powerpoint presentation for the Blog Awards that displayed random screenshots of the nominees during the ceremony. This year I’d like if we had something like this but broken down into a per category basis. Could some volunteers if they had time create a powerpoint of each category and include a screenshot of each nominee’s blog in it? One screenshot of a blog per slide. Send the powerpoints to Irishawards < at > gmail.com

Here’s the shortlist for each category and here are all the categories:

* Best Blog
* Best Blog Post
* Most Humorous Post
* Best Photo Blog
* Best Arts and Culture Blog
* Best Political Blog
* Best Group Blog

* Best Personal Blog
* Best Use of the Irish Language in a Blog
* Best Contribution to the Irish Bloggersphere
* Best Technology Blog/Blogger

* Best Designed Blog
* Best Sport & Recreation Blog
* Best News/Current Affairs Blog
* Best Specialist Blog

* Best Newcomer
* Best Business Blog

Ireland’s First Virtual Awards show

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

As well as the Irish Blog Awards happening in the Alexander Hotel on March 3rd, at the same time there will be an Irish Blog Awards formal ball taking place in the Dublin sim in Second Life. If you can’t make it along to the physical event, why not join a virtual Rick O’Shea and a whole host of Second Life folks partying and celebrating the Blog Awards in the St. Stephen’s Green section of Second Life Dublin?

Hosting365 swoop in for the second last sponsorship slot

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

With thanks to Hosting365, already a sponsor of Best Blog Post, they have now agreed to sponsor another slot at the blog awards. What they sponsored will remain a mystery until the night itself though. Yes, we are doing this just to add some buzz to the night! One sponsorship slot remains now and that’s for the official podcast of the event. Of course if anyone else wants to offer some quality spotprizes, just email us on IrishAwards < at > Gmail.com and we’ll let you know if we’re interested.

Grab a kebab before the 2007 Blog Awards

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Tom Raftery is wondering if people want to meet up for some food before the Blog Awards on Saturday. If anyone else is planning on meeting in a pub beforehand too, let me know and I’ll put it up on this blog.

Here’s a map with the Alexander on it.

Alexander Hotel

There will be Wifi available at the hotel but they charge on an hourly or 24hr basis for it.
